We have two permanent ales available,


Adnams Best Bitter & Woodfordes Wherry.

Always on, always delicious! 

Woodfordes Norfolk Ales – Wherry 3.8 %

Light but full of flavour and with a delicious citrus aftertaste. Great with Norfolk Ham and Turkey or on its own.

The Brewer says,

“Fresh and zesty with crisp floral flavours. A background of sweet malt and a hoppy ‘grapefruit’ bitter finish characterises this champion bitter.”


Adnams of Southwold – Best Bitter 3.7%

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness.

Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer.

Guest Ales – 

This leaves three pumps free which entertain a variety of guest ales from local and national breweries.

Examples include ales from Oakham, Skinners, St Austell, Timothy Taylor, Tintagel, Lacons and Harveys to name a few.


We love ales from  small batch brewers.

CRAFT KEG ALES – We have two dedicated taps

Love the term ‘craft keg ale’, or hate it, the fact is,  it is not only here to stay, it is growing.

Gone are the days of kegged products being solely watered down, high fructose corn syrup offerings. The liquid inside the modern ‘craft’ keg can offer a rather complex, exciting flavour and style that cask cannot.

Why you may ask?

Being a rural village pub, putting on some of the extreme ale styles we are offering  in keg just wouldn’t be viable in cask. Selling 70 pints of a 6.5% abv in three days in Widdington just isn’t possible. The beer would spoil. Kegs solve this problem. Now we can rotate all this exciting beer, knowing oxygen can’t get its claws into the beer’s character and that it can be enjoyed for a good month before really showing signs of age. It’ll over carbonate eventually, but it will last that much longer.
